A Jasper County man remains behind bars today after being charged by Jones County investigators for burglaries that allegedly took place in Jones County in late March. According to Sheriff Alex Hodge, Alvin Sims, 33, currently of Heidelberg, was officially charged by authorities on Thursday for two counts of residential burglary. Sims, formerly of New Orleans, is believed to be responsible for stealing a large amount of power tools and lawn equipment valued at several thousand dollars from residents on Sharon and Glade-Paulding roads. The suspect is currently in custody with the Clark County Sheriff’s Department but is awaiting extradition to Jones County, where he will face charges of burglary.
