The supervisors voted to reject the first set of bids opened on August 11, 2011. After taking the bids under advisement, the Mississippi Development Authority requested the rejection in an effort to revise the specs. All of the bids were over the amount of the grant. After voting to advertise for more bids on September 2, 2011, and opening the bids on October 3, the energy upgrades are finally approved and ready to begin.
The supervisors hope the work will be completed in time to complete other improvements before the festivities planned for the courthouse’s 100 year birthday in April 2012.
Taking care of other business during their third Monday meeting, the supervisors agreed to execute an acknowledgement of receipt regarding the winners issued by the Department of Energy for Energy Efficient CBG awardees. They also executed a letter to the State Audit Department stating the supervisors do not wish to have management discussion and analysis for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2010.
The supervisors voted unanimously to approve the special order to pay Engineering Plus $4649.29 and Oddee Smith Construction $16,248.57 for work done on SCR 33.
Donna Watts, Deputy Clerk, will attend the Justice Court Clerks Statewide Seminar in Jackson November 17 and 18.
Elaine Shelby requested their approval for voided checks and replacement checks. She also requested a correction on a journal entry for the amount of $7272.60. No changes were made to the actual money receipted. A non-workable printer was disposed of on the inventory.
Mavis Seaberry requested the closure of inactive accounts in Solid Waste. An order was approved for postage cost in the Solid Waste in the amount of $905.38.
